Who We Are
When Semulema Daniel was a student at Kampala Film School in 2011, he had no idea that
he would one day form a film company with his lecturer, David Cecil. After the release of
their first feature, Imperial Blue, they launched their own film company specialising in
production and distribution: Dabbo D.
Our Vision
Professionally distribute African content at home and abroad to unlock better quality film production on the continent.
Our Mission
To build a sustainable distribution network for African film that fuels a continuous cycle of revenue and reinvestment empowering the creation of more authentic, high-quality productions.
Team
Semulema Daniel
Semulema Daniel is a director, editor and producer, who has worked on numerous TV shows, music videos, documentaries and media campaigns. He was manager of Rwandan TV station Yego TV in 2013-15 and was the Ugandan producer of Imperial Blue.
David Cecil
David Cecil is a scriptwriter and producer, with experience in education, audio production and events management. Besides writing and producing Imperial Blue, notable credits include international TV series Prefects (2024) and hit theatre play The River and theMountain (2012).
